Year 6B: Year 6B thoroughly enjoyed their latest Art topic – Photography

To begin the day, the children created a photomontage image by selecting images and creating a composition from them. Some of the designs were very interesting… Next, to create abstract art through photography, they chose a piece of fruit or veg which interested them and then took a range of photographs with care and choice, making decisions about cropping, editing and presentation of images.  This was a very enjoyable activity with great results!! Their next task was to create a continuous line self portrait drawing from a ‘selfie’.  This was very challenging as it was extremely tempting to take the pencil off the page! Finally, the task was to replicate the mood and expression of a painting through photography. The children really enjoyed replicating the painting using ‘Sketches School’ before adding their own image. What a great day it was!!
