3M thoroughly enjoyed our art day last half term. They investigated and created their own geometric patterns, using these to create prints. They learnt how to use a compass to create a ‘flower of life.’ Pupils loved exploring the different techniques to create patterns, including making their own stamps.
3M combined English and Computing to complete the Wizard School unit. We used Harry Potter to help us create elements of a story in which we were a wizard. We used lots of programmes to make own wand, join a house and pick a spell. We published our own ebooks including audio and an animation.
Pupils learned lots of new skills and enjoyed creating their own stories.
3M really enjoyed our ‘Starbooks’ day. We shared our favourite stories and characters whilst having a snack. We also designed our own book covers and managed some quiet reading. It was lots of fun and we enjoyed sharing our favourite books with our friends.
3M enjoyed a visit from the Adrian Bowden Travelling Science Show. They learnt about the different skills involved in Scientific enquiry. There was lots of audience participation to develop our understanding of each skill. The children had a fantastic time.
Year 3 enjoyed learning about energy in R.E. They used their senses to describe the fire and wind, imaging what it was like for Jesus’ disciples when the Holy Spirit came.
Year 3 have enjoyed learning about rounders. We practised our bat and ball skills, then we are played in groups of three as either the batter, bowler or fielder.
We worked hard to complete our own Easter bunny and are proud of the results.
3M enjoyed learning different stitches in order to make their own Easter bunny. We learnt running stitch, over stitch and back stitch before choosing which one we preferred for our own bunnies.
Year 3M have been learning about perimeter in Maths. We used biscuits to measure each side and total them together. It helped us to understand this area and the biscuits as treats definitely helped!
3M have been learning about the song ‘Let your Spirit Fly.’ This week we used the glockenspiels to follow and play the song, learning about notes and keeping a steady beat.
